Olympus E-P3 review - official thread

Postby Gordon Laing » Fri Sep 23, 2011 4:07 am

Hi everyone, this is the official thread for the Olympus E-P3!

Check out our Olympus E-P3 review!

This review is done as a combination field report / diary - let me know what you think of this personal style compared to my normal reviews. I think it's an interesting change to see products really deployed in the field from a personal perspective...

Hey I was wondering if you could answer some questions about the Olympus E P3 for me. I am new to all this new camera stuff I don't really understand all the lingo, I am also a fencer and I am interested in taking photos at some competitions but my phone camera simply does not cut it. What I am really looking for in a camera it one that can get a high level of detail, be able to tale pictures of fast moving objects without any motion blur and be able to take lots of these in quick succession, maybe 3-4 per second, do you think that the E P3 would be suitable for this? Or if not what other cameras would you recommend?

Thanks a lot

Welcome on-board!

I'd first suggest browsing my recommended cameras.

For fast shooting I'd recommend a Sony SLT or a Nikon 1 camera, preferably coupled with a bright prime lens rather than a zoom. We can't really discuss different cameras in this thread as it's all about the E-P3 here, but feel free to post in other sections, including the Buying a new camera section.
