there is no reason for a D3200 in normal condition to not take accurate focused photos. Lot of factors here. The information is not enough for a diagnosis. Could be a lens problem , could be a wrong automatic "scene" choice. The auto programs of D3200 work normally just fine regarding focus.

If you click on one of your pics on Flickr, you'll see a few small icons lower right. Click on the one with an arrow coming out of an open box. (I think it's the middle one of five)
Click the BB code, then the re-size drop-down for `Large`, then just copy the code shown & paste on here.

Dear Sandra

On a 24MP DSLR, I expect a little "mushiness" at 100% on screen - I think that it's the nature of the sensor with the sort of anti-aliasing filter they have; and most cameras look a bit soft at this sort of magnification. However, the output of the photos has been excellent in the "real world".

I think that the camera is pretty good (I have a number of other Nikons up to the D800) and I purchased it as a substitute for a "compact" camera. It has the usual little Nikon foibles such as upping the exposure a bit on a sunny day.

On the other hand, the focussing, while generally accurate, has at least one oddity - the camera doesn't focus all that well at wide-angle using phase-detection. For live-view, it's spot-on all the time. As the focal length gets longer, the focussing seems to improve. Also, there are certain lenses (eg 18-200) that it really doesn't like whiloe others (eg 16-85) go quite OK. Of all my Nikons, it's also probably the most temperamental in actually acquiting focus when conditions are a bit marginal.

Having said all that, the camera is eminently usable and, for me, is a way ahead of a large-sensor compact because of the rapid focussing and excellent sensor quality.

Just to clarify--the link I gave you takes me to my photos. Your reply is what got me to yours. Not that it matters; just another quirk. I'll be trying the camera one more time tomorrow to see if we do any better.

The link took me to my flickr photos too. It seems to take everyone to their own. Is the link a "right click copy" of the address on the web page?
