Batik is a process of resistive dying technique in which the fabric is dyed by covering certain portion with molten wax to retain base colour and the rest of unwaxed protion attains colour of the dye on dipping.
In India molten wax is applied on the fabric with painting brushes by stretching out the fabric on sitting stools turned upside down.
