I picked up the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro today and i took a few shots in my backyard, and this is what i came up with:

looks like a very capable lens you acquired there - obviously matched by equally capable hands I see Good shots.

Did you buy this lens from new? and may I be bold as to ask what you had to pay for it?

Am in the market for another macro-capable lens besides my 18-55mm kit lens for my Nikon D40 and it looks like this one might fit the bill if it's somewhat cheaper that the Nikon alternatives in this range.

Yep, i really love this lens....i havenet put it down yet ......but anyways i bought it new at calumet photo for about $490(a $90 mail-in rebate is avalible) You can find it for slightly cheaper on the internet, but im impatient so i bought it in-store. Thanks

Pulling this one out of the history banks, as I recently added one of these lenses to my collection. I'm fairly new to macro, having only done some with a P&S and no close up lenses. I've also used it in a portrait capacity for some shots too - lovely bokeh, nice and sharp with this lens, just getting used to the super-narrow DOF.

These flower and bug samples were all handheld, taken with my first real outdoor test of the camera, in noon Florida light (harsh!), with my Sony DSLR-A550 -
