This is definately the best lens I ever owned.
I like my 100mm macro lens, but this one is so versatile, and it can also get pretty close to the subject.

recently got canon 40D+ ef 24-70(used, but as good as new)

Subject was in a heavy sunlight, so got a nice black background( its a wall)

I got this lens for an indoor event with really bad lighting. Shot the same event the year before with the 24-105 f/4 IS that came with the 5D2 and it was was ok, but I wanted better. IS and a wider aperture are both ways to cope with low light, but only one of them improves the backgrounds by blurring them more.

All of these were Aperture priority, f/2.8, ISO 800. 1 and 3 used bounce flash.

Personally happy with the result at such a high ISO

I am aware that lens r not probably sharp at wide open.... but always thats tempt to me to set the widest aperture,, need to get out of it!!!

But here i was afraid to boost MY ISO further, and also was afraid to lower the shutter speed, so left with no choice,, open it up fron f/4 to f/2.8
