Images are a straight conversion from RAW to JPEG in Adobe Lightroom 3, I've only done a bit of cropping. All images taken on EOS 500D in aperture priority and AI servo mode.

hi KSK, I think I've got some somewhere - it was the first time I did panning, and it's not all that easy!

Because you still want the sharp subject but without a sharp background I went for 1/30 on the shutter in shutter priority and AI servo mode.

It's a pig getting the bikes sharp, but a great learning experience as I discovered that following the bike through the viewfinder, making sure I used a manual AF point selection of "1" point - the point which I tracked the bike with, then it makes life a little easier. I took just under 600 images on the day and scrapped about 450!

My panning shots were mostly with the kit lens so I won't put them up here.

This is a chance attempt at panning with the Tamron - it was never going to blur much at 1/500!

Here are some sample shots with the Tamron 70-300 on my Canon T2i/550D. First set is a series of a telephone pole at about 45-meters away:

This i'm super happy about, an A-10 over Tucson. 1st is the crop 2nd is the original. That is a power line in the shot, no PP beside crop
