Yes i did. I have +1 saturation in the settings (40D).

excellente, i heard that this lens is very easy to handle.

how's the AF speed perform in this lens, and also do you have problems in handhold, what min shutter speed that you usually use?

The AF is very fast and quiet, and if i limited to 8.5m-oo is really really fast.

I can handled at 1/400 and in some case at 1/320.

isn't it suppose to be 1/400 X 1.6 (crop factor?) *well theoritically

It is indeedd suposed to be that way. But being steady and using stuff to lean against can mean holding significantly longer shutter speeds. IS will also help, I can hand hold my 50-200 (200 x 2.0 = 400) at 1/30s in many situations.

How does the IQ compare to the 100-400? Is it vastly superior? I'm debating between the two lenses, and if this one has vastly superior IQ i might just choose that over the convenience of the 100-400

Well I just got my 400mm f/5.6 yesterday but the weather has been bad and here is a couple of the best of the day. I plan to post more better ones when the sun comes out.

1/80 ISO 800

Yes 1/80 of sec. I was surprised that this picture even turn out. I was using a monopod.

1/1000 ISO 800

1/360 560mm(400+1.4x) f/9 ISO 800

I did buy a 1.4x teleconverter with the lens. This picture was manual focus.

I did try to tap the pins on the teleconverter and auto focus does work just haven't tried it in the field yet.

So my first impressions is that this lens has the potential to be great, I just need a nice sunny day.

Well I bought the lens yesterday and already took it out for a test.A fellow local photographer whos into paintball events invited me to a tournament today.Here are a few shots all taken at 5.6,the lens was mounted on a monopod and it was really cloudy so all of them at 800 ISO.I still cant believe how fast this lens auto focuses and how sharp images come out of it.Im loving it so far.

So as you can see even on less than ideal situations the lens performs superbly for outdoors.
