I really want to photograph a mirror with some "coke" and a razor blade with Happy 2013 written in cocaine. Maybe some x-mas lights and booze bottles laying around. Please don't steal this idea, lol.

EDIT: Wait, better yet. May the best Coke OD photographer win.

I'm surprised there was that much Charlie left after that party!

The table salt poured out quicker than I expected. My plan was to shape it with the razor, but it was just easier to pour it out as is. I wanted to have an arm laying in the photo, but I don't have a short enough tripod to do that, so I had to hold the camera myself. Honestly, if I had a pack of condoms, I would've placed an opened one in the lower frame just to make it even more hedonistic.

lol, lagnificent - I like Coke too, but I usually drink mine.

To Douglas Gordon, nice shot with the reindeer - hm, hadn't thought before what Rudolf must feel like the "morning after!"

Great suggestion, Rob! This should be a fun topic! I'll be waiting to see what your submission will be for this month. My first thought was someone bowing before the porcelain god...

On Sunday, a very good friend of mine passed away just a week before his 100th birthday. I stepped out of his room, and walked into his sunroom. The view out of his back windows looks out over a small lake, with trees on the other side. We had just had a light snowfall that morning, and everything looked fresh and clean. The sun came out, and the sky was a bright blue (his favorite color.) If he was still there, he would have been asking where I was going to take him for a ride that day. The lake was frozen, and across the lake, directly across from his house, several deer stepped out of the woods and walked along the shore.
I thought of this theme, but it was early afternoon.

We have just had a storm event pass through the region and we are all on high alert, flooding, rockfalls and slips etc..so im goin to try and get a photo of the aftermath..

Yep all good. Just a few closed roads. It's all work for me!

Wow, Rob - That's almost a week - is it all from one storm?

Yep. We had 48 hrs of high rainfall which resulted in nearly 50km of road incidents from floods, road inundation by rivers, culverts blowing out to the road simply being washed away. Slips, drop outs and general chaos!

I have spent the last 4 days cataloging event sites.

Thing is this typically occurs at least once a year. Welcome to NZ !

NZ is beautiful - if it didn't have a few drawbacks to mere mortals, it would have been overrun by now...
They always say that every storm cloud has a silver lining, and it doesn't look like you'll be out of work any time soon. We'll probably see the results of all that extra money rolling in when you get your next lens or camera accessory.
