November 2012 Submissions

Postby Bjorn van Sinttruije » Thu Nov 01, 2012 10:03 am

Hi everyone! Welcome to November's Assignment!

The theme for this month is "Double trouble", as suggested by AdamP who won the September 2012
competition. Be sure to read the whole post for the rules.

In AdamP's own words:
"November's assignment will be Double Trouble. We see doubles all the time, whether its a reflection, twins, or our vision after having too much whiskey for the night. Have fun with this assignment, and I'm sure we'll see many creative shots this month! Please keep the PP to a minimum...keep it to only small tweaks. Thanks!"

The rules!

1: You can only submit one image and it MUST be taken during November 2012. Photos taken earlier will be disqualified!

2: All images submitted must be no more than 1024 pixels on their longest side, although you can include a link to a
full resolution version if you like. Flickr users must link back to the original version to comply with its latest rules.

As always, please exercise good judgement on what is suitable for the forum. Keep it clean and family-friendly or it'll
be removed. See the Forum Rules for guides.

Please include a sentence or two with your photo describing what you were trying to achieve and if there were any
particular challenges in doing so like, for example, any special exposure or lighting setup.

We're all enthusiasts here, so it's also great to see what equipment you used and the settings too. So please also
include the following:

Camera Model:
Lens and focal length:
Aperture:
Shutter Speed:
Sensitivity:
Post processing:

Submissions will close at midnight GMT on 30th November 2012. The final poll will follow.

Please remember this thread is for submissions only. If you'd like to comment on any of the submissions or ask any
questions, please do so in the November 2012 Comments and Questions thread!

Thanks and good luck!

You wait for ages for a Geriatric photographer to come along,
then wouldn't you know it? ... three turn up at once!

I'm too happy to think of other shots to submit as entry. This is single exposure self-portrait, intentionally made for this assignment.

These guys had it ruff in Basic Training. Every time a VIP came to visit their Drill Sergeant would make them be the guards so they matched

This was made early in the morning so to capture action had to crank the ISO up. Was really just attempting to get 2 of the same species of bird in the same shot, so the splash was a gift.

Well, my picture certainly is not as beautiful as most of the pictures here, but thought I'd add a little trouble to the double here. So here is scene from bowling the other day - a split - always trouble for me. Picture taken with a Canon Powershot SX150 IS (date/time feature is broken, sorry, but it was taken last week.) I hope it at least brings a smile. :0) It was fun trying to find something that matched both the double and the trouble this month!

Caught this one about 1 week ago on my recent trip to Costa Rica. This was on a tour of a coffee plantation in a place called monteverde. Two beautiful animals that i definitely would call double trouble if u made them mad :))
