How about 'motion' Weather it be stopping it... panning... or having the shutter go on forever like I have seen on night shots...

A possible subject suitable for December could be 'Ornamental Light'. Or somewhat broader it could include any type of light that is not primarily there to improve seeing things in the dark. So light decorations, candle light etc. But also signalling lights of any sort, neon signs and even lights on displays like CD-players or whatever.

Just a thought.

I know this was done last year, but it could be cool to repeat the tradition:

"New years resolutions" for january?

Hi Johanna, great to see you back on the forums !

It is a great idea, but it's up to the winner of last month's assignment to choose the next one - this thread is handy for giving them suggestions though!

Video 2 Mike Dixon Test
Video 3 Just finished building the IR72 Infrared Camera and Illuminator
Which is a modified Broken CCTV camera found in the Skip at work :D
Lucky find that day, after cleaning all the rain water and dirt out of it and changing the Lens to a spare i had in the workshop i then removed the bandpass filter from the Sensor and left it open to every frequency it could detect the QE drops off at 1180nM so its Near IR only (Band A)
but it looks ok for the videos i do.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested but i think making a RANDOM themed on Assignment would be funny.

Whoever is more random with their photo wins. :!:

Example: Get a pretty model and put a potato on her head. :P

I like that idea of "random"... if i for some reason pull out a win for this months assignment... I'll most likely do this one! Great idea!

How about pareidolia, also known as "things with faces"? Here is a wiki-link:

What about something like, "Electronics"? I mean, everybody has something electronic! Otherwise they wouldn't be able to even log onto Cameralabs!

It could be something like a hand reaching out to pick up a computer mouse. Anything that really involves electronics or tech works.

How about Christmas being the theme, as its December's theme. I know it's a very vague theme, but it would allow everyone to interpret what they think Christmas is! :D

For many of us winter means limited getting out and about so my suggestion is home. Anything taken within or from your home.
Making a good shot out of the familiar really pushes your creativity.
