Am I using a 64 bit processor?

Postby shantylata596 » Sun Jul 07, 2013 6:39 am

I use the following:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 5400+

Does this mean I have a 64 bit processor? For some reason I was sure I was using a 32 bit processor.

Is there a way to discover what the ram potential of my motherboard is?

1.- Yes it is a 64-bit processor, the 64 in the name indicates it.

2.- What computer are you using? Or is it a custom build?

Yes, processor is 64-bit. You'll need a 64-bit operating system to take advantage of it.

To find out your max RAM.
If the PC is made by a large builder (like Dell or HP), just enter the model number on their website and download the manual. (Or google it.)
If it was built by you or a small builder (like a local shop), I'd check the model number of the motherboard, and do an online search. (The local shop might even know.)
