Need help with printing slides for projection

Postby tipiyano » Mon Nov 26, 2012 11:27 pm

I am looking to print photos on a transparency that will be used for an overhead projection like application. Based on my understanding, for printing regular photos anything above 300 (or may be 600) dpi does not provide much value. However, given that my transparencies will be magnified (through a lens) 30x-50x I would like to print at the highest dpi possible. If you are curious this is what my project is: ... cting_ring

I am not familiar with the nuances of digital printing. I do have high resolution pictures (10MP+) so I expect to have enough ppi for my final image given that the final image will be less then a quarter inch in length and width. I need help figuring out how to prepare the image for highest resolution printing and where to get them printed. I do not own a printer so I expect to use retail photo labs (cvs/walgreens/online) or potentially a buy a printer if needed.

Thanks for your help!

Hello Rahul, and welcome to the friendly Camera Labs forum!

I'm not sure what the link in your post has to do with your question - so this might be considered SPAM.
But regarding your question: normal prints from a 10MP camera are totally sufficient for transparencies.
