Scratched Epson Perfection, HELP!

Hey Everyone,

I have an Epson perfection 4490 that I bought second hand. And I've recently noticed that there is a scratch right underneath the transparency lamp window on the scanner glass bed. If I scan two 6x6 frames the second always shows the scratch in the picture, its pretty long and noticeable even though digital ICE reduces it a lot. (just an observation to note: epson scan seems to remove scratches and dust better than vuescan)

How can I fix this? Replacement scanner glass or buffing it out. It's really bugging me.
