While I'm sure that people have seen it before me, over the past few hours of fooling around when I should be working, I have found Picnik to be an EXCELLENT basic photo editing tool. It links to my SmugMug account and apparently can grab from any online photo sharing site.

It may put some people off, but it has been bought by Google (the company that is).

I have nothing to do with Google or Picnik.

I prefer Adobe Photoshop

Actually I use Adobe Photoshop for editing, it may seem a bit complicated first but after a while it helps to achieve great results, but it's interface is not very intuitive so it's not for beginners I think...

ReaConverter Pro software; it is great batch image converter. And it supports multiple formats as I can see. Main features: Convert images to JPG, GIF, BMP, PBM, PGM, PNG, PPM, TGA, TIF image formats from any (BMP, DCR, EMF, GIF, ICO, JPEG, PBM, PCX, PGM, PNG, PPM, TIFF, TGA, WMF, FPX, EPS...).And we can resize, crop, rotate and mirror images, change color resolution. Change image's brightness, contrast, and gamma also.

Thanks for the incredible list. Extremely specific too. I'll come back here many times I'm sure. I was looking at another list of photo editors, but this one really takes the cake. I'm going to spend some time trying out trials and see what I like the very best. I don't do a lot of photo editing, but I love to play. Here's to tons of hours getting lost in photos. Thanks!
