Kemble's Cascade

Postby cybermystic » Sun Aug 24, 2014 9:59 am

A very rare night last night. Perfectly clear and no Moon, plus the Milky Way as I've never seen it before from here - magic.
Grabbed 31 subs at 5-minutes per sub using the 200mm lens and M26C OSC CCD on the mini-WASP array.
This is the well-known Kemble's Cascade in the little known constellation Camelopardalis.

I composited this data with some earlier Sky 90/M26C data and it helped the star colour quite a bit.

.
Maybe a bit cheeky of me to say so but that second rendition is far better with more star colour, tighter stars and much less evident diffraction spikes. Nice image. 8)

Not cheeky at all Bob :D I think so too - that's why I posted it up.
If Noel gets round to looking at this data he will of course do a much better job of it than me.
