Gold Coast Marathon 2013

A week to mid winter and after a few weeks of showers a perfect day for our 42 km marathon with a top of 21c. Again I was around the halfway mark to trying and capture the start of the strain and pain of the runners.

1 Eventual winner #3 Japan, 2nd #7 Japan, 3rd #13 Eritrea



2 Eventual female winner #51 Japan breaking the course record, 2nd Kenya, 3rd Russia.

6 Yes he did finish



7 This handicapped guy was 20 minutes over the cut off time, the organisers allowed him to be listed in the official finishers listing. What a mighty guy.

9 This runner was wishing she was at the end of the road.



10 There were smiles and waves from the slower runners

12 The papers said this guy stopped every 5 km and played a tune.



13 She said, "The beautiful South pacific, I thought we came downunder for a holiday, why are we doing this". Yes they did finish.
