f/2.8 lenses too slow for you? Well, here's one that might negate the need to carry some primes, with a f/1.8 18-35mm for APS-C.

Few other details yet, but I wouldn't expect it to be cheap...

If it focuses better than sigma primes in that range, it'll be an ideal travel lens for all light leves.

Interesting! I am presently trying to learn more about the 12-24mm II, which is suitable for full-frame as well as crop, but an f/1.8 wide zoom certainly catches one's attention.

This lens really looks great for low light and event photography. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that it's 1.8 and not 2.8
Sigma seems to be refreshing a lot of it's line up into the "A" "C" and "S" lines. And from what I've heard the new lenses are generally good performers.

I have been extremely impressed with Sigma recently.

For example, the latest 35mm f/1.4 lens from them is something that I would want over the other options, and it just happens to be less expensive as well.
If this lens has the same quality to it, I will expect it to do well.

This lens made me think for a bit that staying in APS-C might be more desirable than going full-frame. I am looking forward to the reviews on it.

Looks good but confirms I'm NOT buying this lens due to the backwards zoom ring.
