Its been a while since I posted anything , so there is a few more

There are times when you go out with the idea to photograph something but you end up in a completely different place. I was going to shoot some old mill at dawn that morning but it was a disaster due to some ugly artificial light from nearby construction site, so I took a different route home and I found sunflowers.

These next 3 shots were from the same night. Original Idea was to shoot lightning but the storm was to far away. I stopped by the hay bale to capture incredible colors in the sky and then stayed there for few hours.

I had no idea that I will be granted by lightning storm and aurora at the same time.

Weather forecast was cloudy for the whole night generated by this doppler radar. Even at the time of this photo all apps on my phone said 100% cloud coverage for that area. But me living in Manitoba I know that from 100% cloudy to 100% clear can change in just 15 min and then 15 min later it can be cloudy again.

Next 4 are from the same night, Milky way on a pebble beach was shot first. Aurora forecast was not that great but sometimes you can get unexpected. On this first one you can see andromeda galaxy in the top right corner. I had no Idea that I could capture something like that with 14mm lens.

These 2 are from same evening, intention was to shoot nice sunset but as you can see there is no sun visible due to clouds. Weather did clear a bit later that night.

Here the idea was to shoot fall colors with the morning sun but that didn't happen since the sun didn't come out till noon. Little note here, If you are planing on shooting something at particular time of the day make sure you arrive a bit early so you can get ready for it, plus you might get some unexpected shot like that.

First time this year that weather forecast was right, it said rain all day and should clear up around 6 pm, that's how it was and this was shot about 6 30 pm, Its nice sometimes to pose in your own pictures.

I found it interesting you shot some with a 14 mm lens, tried to look at the exif’s but none available. I imagine these need a great deal of patience and dedication to capture them.

Living in a place where we have palms and evergreen trees, I love the autumn colours of the last few. I thought we would see a lot more posted from up north this autumn. Love your work.

Amazing shots Nelepl! Personally I particularly liked the first autumn shot, the sunflowers and mostly this last one you posted. That one is quite a shot, though I would've been interested to see how it would've looked if shot with a wider lens including more of the sky in the frame, though I don't know at what length it was shot as Flickr shows no EXIF.

Thanks guys. This last one was shot at 14mm as well as most of others.

There is something new, looks like winter is here. This is same place as Eureka shot 4 weeks later looking at the other side.
Since I disabled exif on flickr, there is some info, I will add this to all future images I post.

Nikon D600 + Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 @ 52mm f8, ISO 100 60sec.
No filters used here, it was shot about 45min before sunrise.

Most of the time when I shoot northern lights I do long sequence of shots for time lapse videos. This actually becomes quite handy for few different reasons. First you don't miss any cool aurora shapes, second you can make star trails photo, third you can make time lapse video.

Hi 4xxxx. I wondered if you would spot the autumnessicity in these. No, I didn't buy the boathouse - I took up photography instead. The boathouse is now a self-catering holiday let at £1650 a week. That's two return air fares to Oz. I know which alternative I would spend the money on. Despite the test result.

Nelepl, your work continues to amaze. Stunningly beautiful. I'd like to know how to put together a set such as you describe. Others have done it too. Might this be a good subject for another cameralabs tutorial, I wonder?
