Homemade Light Modifiers

Postby Trevor Harris » Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:20 am

I'm not going to explain the process in depth as I feel like the pictures are sort of self-explanatory. I just wanted to share this 'cause I'm pretty happy with this. Making expensive things for cheap is so satisfying :-)

The beauty dish is made of a plastic bowl spray painted black & white (of course). There is also an old cd spindle container, and a concave mirror (used to place on a side mirror for increased visibility). Glued together with 5-minute epoxy. The velcro is off my ring light, which I never use.

The snoot is made from a diffuser (just used for the ease of mounting) and an old pringles can. I painted it black as to make not look like trash - literally.

The photo at the end is taken using this equipment (Plus a red gel).
