I just dropped a couple thousand on a D7000 with the kit lens and a Afs 50mm 1.8G. I just switched over from Pentax and got used to using their infrared off camera flash system. Nikon also has an inferred system obviously and I know my new Nikon won't fire off my Pentax 540FGZ flash using infrared. My question is though, is there a way of using a sync cord to trigger the flash? Wireless transmitters are a little out of the budget for a while now. Does anyone know of any cheap solutions to off camera flash that are safe. I've looked into those Yongnuo triggers, anyone trust them?
Update..... I decided to get a couple sets of the Cactus V5 kits. Each kit includes two units that can be used as a transmitter and a receiver. Two kits gives me enough receivers to trigger a 3 light set up which should work for me.
I have a similar wireless system, the Yongnuos.
