Couple from a recent joint search and rescue exercise with the U.S Coast Guard Staion in Easport Maine.

Canadian Coast guard Cutter Westport tied up in St Stepehen NB

"MV Palmarola" picking up a big and a small set of winches for anchor handling vessels.
A total of 55 pieces weighing a total of 600tons, the heaviest single piece was 135tons.

we had an hour break while they where rearranging the tweendecks, and i used half of it to snap a couple pictures.

Gekko, Sorry I missed yours last time. I really like the Palmarola picture! It's very clear for a night shot. Nice job.

Janern, it seems funny to see all that open water. Here the only ships out right now are the ice breakers. There are a lot of people here just waiting for the ice to move out so they can get their boats out again. Both of your last two shots are really very nice! You have some great color and detail in both of them that I really like.

Nice shot janern! I wonder, why doesn't the water up there in Norway turn to ice like many places that are more towards the equator? :|

We can thank the Gulf stream for that. Otherwise it would be very harsh here. The Norwegian coast is actually quite warm for the latitude. That's also why the snow usually is on off here in my city, it doesn't stay the whole winter
