Not too long before the official release of Vista I read the (entire) original text here
which apparently has been changed/updated since. From that moment on I knew Vista wasn't going to be a success. Half a year or so later I spent an afternoon testing Vista which left me hugely unimpressed and I knew I most likely would never install it on any computer of mine.
One sentence from that text:
The Vista Content Protection specification could very well constitute the longest suicide note in history.
I concluded that Vista wasn't developed with the interest of the end user as its primary objective which made me think I'd pass on it.
