Tell me if I'm on the right track! :)

Hi guys,
I use to be a member here, a long long long time ago :)

My last two camera setups were pretty similar to what I want now.

Nikon D80, Kit Lens and 50mm F1.8
Nikon D90, Kit Lens and 50mm F1.8, Grip, SB600

It has been about 2 years since I had the D90 and I'm really wanting to get back into Photography again. I loved the 50mm for it's sharpness but felt on the DX format was a LITTLE bit too close. So this is what I'm looking at getting now to start myself off with again...

Nikon D7100, Kit Lens and 35mm F1.8

Am I on the right track? I'm pretty flexible with my photography as far as I know, not leaning towards any subject in particular. I'm not opposed to Canon, I've just never had any experience with them ;) Looking at spending about $2000NZD initially.

Thanks for the advice!

Hi antman,

Welcome back. 8)

If you haven't been following the camera scene too closely you might be surprised how much the mirrorless (CSC) offerings have moved on. You can see my own choice in my Signature below but there are also some excellent offerings for rather less money. Have a browse through Gordon's Best mirrorless camera page.
