Polarizer suggestion for Canon 24-105mm

Postby richie_lyons » Fri Jan 25, 2013 12:46 pm

Hi guys,

Any suggestions for a polarizer for the Canon 24-105mm, this the main lens which I use for most shots, so I was wanting a recommended brand or polarizer type to go with it. Hoping to get your suggestions please :)

I haven't used a polarizer, have used Cokin ND filters before, I can't say I've been that impressed, a lot of flare! Looking for a screw on circular polarizer if possible?

Hoping to get your suggestions please :)

Cheers,
Richie

B+W or Hoya I reckon.

Hoya have a few different prices, from more affordable....to the Pro1. They also do the ultra slim HD, but it aint cheap, especially 77mm.

I read about cheap copies from fleabay etc. Apparently if the label/barcode is printed, it's likely to be a fake, whereas the kosher Hoya filters actually have their label actually stuck on the box.

There's also the option of going down the adaptor/holder route (such as Lee, Singh-ray or Cokin ..) to use the larger Sq `plates` but I haven't used them.
