I'm astonished to see that the tutorial I made over 3 years ago is still here! It's really an honor to me and I can only hope that it reached it's goal, to help other people out!

Can you avoid using Photomatix?

Can you avoid using Photomatix if you camera has an HDR mode?

Personally I believe that it's always best to process HDR yourself. Yes, the camera's HDR mode is nice, but it might be a better option to process it yourself.
On the other side though, the HDR might only be a filter, but I don't know.
