'Sindoor Daan' (pronounced Sin as in sin + door as in moor, daan as in dan-ce) is the ritual of applying vermillion to the bride's hair parting by the groom as the final step to finalise the conjugal bonding. This vermillion mark denotes and differentiates between a Hindu married and unmarried woman.
A bride transforms into a Wife and her position is upgraded in society :)
The significance and importance of this ritual is well evident from the expression of the bride.
