Went on a little trip today to 841 Apollo Street.

Hope you guys like what's inside!

here's the view from outside:

i was in line so i decided to have a look around.

how a lens is made:

Image
the glass is made of two things
Image

which is shaped into thin pieces of glass.
Image

cut into the circular shapes
Image

which is then polished with a diamond cutter
Image

and is then placed into the barrel

along with the lens manufacturing process there are also other exhibits around the small Nikonian office.

on display are some things that nikon has manufactured in the past. surprisingly there was nothing on display after the d80.

Image
i believe this camera was made in lieu of the 60th Nikonian Anniversary.
This beauty was only has 299 other siblings.

Nikon's widest lens that it's got to offer.

The largest nikkor lens i've ever seen.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. I like the big chunk of glass. Seems like an interesting place to visit.

Golden Camera looks really nice and shiny!

Did they charge for letting you go in there?
