Backpacking: Garibaldi Park, B.C.

Postby EricD » Fri Jul 25, 2008 4:32 am

Hello everyone,

I just got back from a magnificent trip through Garibaldi Provincial Park, B.C. The area is just stunning, and I wanted to show you all with some pictures... I brought along my D50, and the standard 18-55 kit lens.

I'll start off with some macros...

1. Purple Mountain Flower:

2. I don't exactly know the name of this plant...

3. Water droplets on pine needles.

Next up, the Beautiful landscapes... It was simply stunning, as you will see.

4. "Into the Mist"

5. Lake Garibaldi

6. Head of Lake Garibaldi

And now for some fun ones...

7. My Brother about to go for a swim in a glacial lake.

8. Cold?

If you wish to view the exif details, you can go to my flickr and look under "more properties".

Enjoy! C&C always welcome!

Eric D.

Great landscapes :!: no.6 is my favorite, if you have an RAW file make HDR. trees (left) and rocks (right) crying for some light.

I love 3, 5 6 7 and 8. I really like 3 a lot, thats very good, what lens did you do that with?

Also, how'd you pack your camera and as promised, a little late how ever, my DIY hard Case.

Thanks Jake and Magic.

All of these pictures were taken with the nikon 18-55, with a polarizer filter slapped on it... I wish I could have taken along my 70-300, but weight and size were of issues.

I packed my camera in a standard camera bag. If the weather were predicted to be worse, I would have looked into getting a waterproof, or at least water resistant case.

I also wore the camera around my neck while I was hiking, I didn't want to miss any opportunities.
