Castle.

The steps - I climbed all of those showing plus a similar number "this" side. There were at least three million of them.

I agree robbon; fascinating place. They were brave stone masons who erected the castle walls on those cliff edges.

And yes, we were lucky with the weather - which had not been the case on Bodmin Moor earlier that day!

Very nice pictures Warth Man. It does look like you had a beautiful day. I'd hate to be on those steps on a really nasty, wet, windy day! I like them all, but the picture with the house foundations makes you wonder who lived there and what their lives would have been like. Beautiful views!

Thanks for the comments. These pics were posted after our summer holiday in the south west. Those were the mainly dry two weeks we had last year!

Thanks Xnavy but not sure my pics are really better than English Heritage's. That said, I wouldn't have minded the helicopter or whatever trip they got some of theirs from. Robbon is the expert on that as we have seen in my own favourite spot in the world. Lucky chap.

Warth Man - considering you did not have a bird's eye view, you still got some great pictures. I like the one with all the steps and they skipped that view entirely. And yeah - it'd be hard to beat some of Rob's pics for pure scenic beauty - he's definately got an advantage when it comes to beautiful pictures just by having so many wonderful opportunities - and the helicopter thrown in too... hard to compete with that!

An alternative view of Tintagel. From September 1996 taken with an early Kodak digital camera - DCXXX (?)

Let me say it was a very atmospheric day with the heavy mist- a bit reminiscent of the Excalibur opening scene.
