Sony A7r/A7 Difference errata

Postby capital » Wed Oct 16, 2013 7:00 am

The live press event released on youtube indicated that the A7r uses a different metal chassis for the top plate and greater structural rigidity at the lens mount reinforcement vs. the A7 which has none.

The differnce in structure is in the front plate-- A7 has a composite plastic material and the A7r has a metal front plate.front plate.

Yep, I confirmed this when interviewing one of the top Sony guys from Japan. I've included it in my video preview.

PS - Note I've now created a dedicated sticky thread to discuss the Alpha A7 and A7r - sorry it wasn't there when you posted!
